Round 2 U19s Seniors Match Report

BEAUMARIS:        6.6.42

OLD SCOTCH:      10.7.67

Round 2 saw the under 19 1’s travel to Beaumaris in windy and overcast conditions to take on last year’s minor premiers. The first quarter was very sloppy with the wet conditions causing lots of skill errors, however Old Scotch went in a goal up at quarter time thanks to a long-range effort from Sam Townsend. The weather dried up in the second quarter allowing Old Scotch to assert their dominance on the contest with an inspirational effort from the skipper at full back setting up multiple goals to give the cards a 5 goal lead at half time. Beaumaris came out firing in the third quarter with their midfield beginning to get on top however the backline stood strong with a strong performance from Hugh Longbottom at half back not allowing them in to the contest. The game slowed up in the last quarter as fatigue began to set in but with another best on performance from Charlie Cormack in the middle and Will Clark being a tower down forward the boys were able to run out 25-point winners to start the season 2 and 0.
