OLD SCOTCH: 5.13-43
OLD XAVERIANS: 12.11-83
The twos came into Saturday’s game against Old Xavs on the back of 2 losses, hungry to atone for the previous few weeks dissapointment and get back on the winners list. Pre game our wise coach Muz made the move to move the self appointed best swing man in the comp Ed Furey, to the forward line after he had spent the previous 7 weeks at full back. Early on we were all over the opposition, but unfortunately we couldn’t kick straight, and at quarter time we trailed 1.5 to 3 straight.
The second quarter wasn’t much better and once again kicked more behinds than goals, missing too many easy set shots despite having most of the play.
With a 7 point deficit at the half we set ourselves for a big premiership quarter, only to kick ourselves out of the game by kicking 2.4 to Xavs 4.2.
Running out of gas in the last, we let Xavs get a run on and they piled on another 4 goals whilst we could only muster 1 more. A disappointing week and we will look to bounce back against St Bedes this week. Perhaps some goal kicking practice is needed at training!
