The Old Scotch Football Club is delighted to announce that the City of Boroondara have approved the refurbishment of both the major and minor pavilions at McQueen Park (Camberwell Sportsground). It is planned to start both pavilion works in parallel from June and it is hoped that the project is completed by December 2020.
The refurbishment of both pavilions will see the installation of female friendly change room facilities in respect to toilets, showers, etc. to bring our facilities into line with modern expectations and requirements. This will include an ambulant toilet, which will replace the current medical room, to be relocated to where the gym presently is.
The social rooms will receive a spruce up with new carpets and painting. There will be potential for modern digital presentation facilities including promotion of our club, community and corporate partners on the main feature wall. There will also be enhanced access to the social rooms. The kitchen will undergo a refurbishment to make it commercially capable for the preparation of meals and refreshments.
The pavilion works will cause some inconvenience during this period as they will be treated as building construction sites. No one will be able to access either building during this time. The club is working together with the City of Boroondara and Camberwell Magpies Cricket Club to ensure we have temporary change rooms, medical, toilet and shower facilities for training nights and match day if and when we get the go ahead to train and play in the current COVID19 circumstances.
The Club thanks the City of Boroondara for its investment in community sport, and particularly thanks Councillor Coral Ross for the amazing job she has done representing the constituents of Gardiner Ward over such a long period of time.
