IT’S TIME TO RETURN
I am delighted to announce it’s just about time to return to train for our players and coaches. The various regulatory authorities, including the Victorian Government, AFL Victoria, the Victorian Amateur Football Association and the City of Boroondara have indicated the club can recommence training after 31 May 2020.
However, before we can start again, our number one priority continues to be the wellbeing of our people. We have introduced a comprehensive list of protocols which must be put in place, and we are in the process of working together with the appropriate governing authorities to satisfy these requirements to get approval to train shortly. Some of the major requirements include the following:
- Comprehensive Return To Train/Play safety plan
- Appointment of COVID-19 Safety Officer(s)
- Club representatives undertaking Infections Control training
All this will need to be undertaken in an environment where we will have the parallel pavilion building projects taking place and portable facilities for training nights and match days. On a positive note, we can assure you that our players, coaches and support staff are well prepared to restart training and hopefully play again in 2020.
The club has not been given any indication of a possible start date for the VAFA 2020 season. If the season eventuates we will let you know ASAP.
