We are proud to announce the Old Scotch Football Club has been awarded the winner of:
Inclusive Club of the Year
This is awarded to a club that has delivered a program, event or project which primarily focusses on welcoming and engaging underrepresented groups/communities to the sports club.
Having been an exclusive male club for 97 years OSFC introduced their first women’s team in 2018. Women and girls participation at the club continues to thrive and grow each year with many now actively involved as players, team managers, physiotherapists, trainers, committee members and a variety of volunteer and coaching roles.
The annual Boroondara Sports Awards program recognises the important role sports clubs play in enhancing community health and wellbeing, increasing participation in physical activity and fostering social connection.
The Sports Awards celebration was to be held at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. With restrictions in place due to COVID-19, the awards were presented via on online video telecast by Nicole Livingstone OAM, former Olympian and current Head of Women’s Football – AFL.

Congratulations to everyone at the club who participated in our submission. Winning this award underpins and epitomises our ‘One Club’ and ‘Building A Reputation’ focus and striving to make the club an inspirational environment for the development of young people – both male and female.
Go Cardinals!
