The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) was formed in 1892 and comprised ten clubs. Today, Collegians is the only surviving original founding club. Old Scotch first joined the VAFA in 1894 as “Scotch Collegians” together with three other clubs, none of whom are still competing today. The club disbanded at the conclusion of the 1895 season.

Old Scotch rejoined the VAFA in 1921 as the “Old Scotch Collegians Football Club”, and with the exception of the five years of the Second World War, has competed continuously in the VAFA since that year.

Old Scotch has won thirteen senior men’s premierships and four senior women’s premierships 

In 2003, the club changed its name from ‘Old Scotch Collegians Football Club’ to ‘Old Scotch Football Club.’ It introduced its first women’s team, the Old Scotch Stars, in 2018 and celebrated its centenary in 2021.

Since the advent of the of the Women’s side the club has been ‘refreshed and rejuvenated’ since their inception in 2018, the roll call reads;

• 18 Grand Final appearances across all sides from a possible 43 opportunities (not including the unfinished COVID year of 2021)
• 8 Premierships (4 to our Senior Women and 1 each to our Senior, Reserves, Women’s Reserves and U19 Men)

2024 is obviously headlined through the unprecedented appearance of all four (4) major open age group sides making grand finals. With our first senior men’s premiership since 1978 coached by Mark Gnatt, our senior women winning their first in premier division coached by Dean Anderson, and the men’s and women’s reserves sides also appearing on the last day of September.
