OSFC HISTORY
The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) was formed in 1892 and comprised ten clubs. Today, Collegians is the only surviving original founding club. Old Scotch first joined the VAFA in 1894 as “Scotch Collegians” together with three other clubs, none of whom are still competing today. The club disbanded at the conclusion of the 1895 season.
Old Scotch rejoined the VAFA in 1921 as the “Old Scotch Collegians Football Club”, and with the exception of the five years of the Second World War, has competed continuously in the VAFA since that year.
Old Scotch has competed in ‘Premier A’ section for 72 years out of a possible 88 years, the most of any club and boasts the longest continuous playing record of any club in that division.
Old Scotch has won nine ‘A’ Grade Premierships and three ‘B’ Grade Premierships.
The Club’s last Premiership was back in 1978 … a long time ago!
In 2003, the Club changed its name from the “Old Scotch Collegians Football Club” to the “Old Scotch Football Club”. The preceding facts indicate that Old Scotch has a proud history and a great tradition. We need your support to preserve, maintain and uphold this history and tradition.
