The Old Scotch Football Club committee is delighted to announce it has unanimously decided to recommend that Will Strange be elected as President at the club’s 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) later this year. Will is a former student of Scotch College (07) and played in their Football 1st XVIII. Will joined the Old Scotch Football Club in 2008, playing 128 games and kicking 268 goals as a power forward, predominately in the Men’s 1st XVIII.
Will has graciously accepted the committee recommendation and will act as President Elect until the AGM, speaking about the announcement here. “I am honoured and excited to serve the club I love. Since 2008, I have contributed to the club as a player, committee member, coach, sponsor and supporter. Tim Shearer has served as president for 16 of the last 20 years and has been a fantastic servant of the club. He leaves the club in a better position than when he arrived.”
“Stepping into the role next year, I want to connect our community, our families and bolster the business of the club for us to achieve the top-level success we thoroughly crave. This will take a lot of hard work from everyone associated with the club. Our club brings young men and women together to play a game we love and there is no better cause to support. I am thrilled to be supported by some great people and look forward to making an impact.”
Tim Shearer will continue to fulfil his role as President until the AGM planned for 1 December. Tim and Will are working closely together in the transition for 2023 and beyond.
