STATEMENT FROM THE CLUB – 30 NOV 2022

The Old Scotch Football Club was informed today that Donald McDonald would be stepping away from his position as our Football Director, which he has held since September 2019. Donald is looking to spend more time with his family and focus a bit more energy into his business ventures.

Donald wished to say:

“Personally I feel it is a perfect time to move away from the role I have played at Old Scotch Football Club. The original idea was to come in and support our then newly appointed Men’s senior coach Mark Gnatt in trying to establish our team in Men’s Premier A section and lay a platform for our players to really build on in our pursuit of a finals berth and ultimately a premiership.

The timing is right as I feel Mark has really established himself as a Men’s Premier A coach and with the support of his fellow coaching staff and committee the future is bright if the players want to embrace the challenge. I would like to thank the club for originally having the faith to appoint me. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Old Scotch and I look forward to watching on in the seasons ahead.”

On behalf of all at the club, I would like to thank Donald for his outstanding contribution over the last 3 years as our Football Director. Donald has brought great leadership, football knowledge, connections, passion and a vibrant personality to the role. Donald leaves the club in a better position than when he walked through the door at McQueen Park. We wish Donald, Terry and their family all the best for the future and look forward to welcoming them back to the club at any time.

The club has commenced the process for replacing Donald and we will update the Old Scotch Football Club community as we have further information to provide.
